Online Gambling & Michigan
With the legislation that was passed back in December of 2019, online casinos were legalized. However, it has taken Michigan almost an entire year now to come up with the rules, regulations, and licensing for online casinos and sportsbooks. Now, in mid-November, it seems that online casinos and gaming is right around the corner.
It is important to note that in-person commercial casinos are available in Michigan. However, due to the pandemic, the revenue has been down, and it has not been making the cities or state as much money as one would hope. However, with online casinos coming, this may change everything. This could be a massive revenue stream for the state.
Several online casino platforms have already entered the state and partnered with physical locations so that they could be licensed. This is crucial as Michigan requires partnerships for online casinos to operate, similar to states like New Jersey, giving these online casinos somewhat of a physical base inside of the state.
